Remodelando la Casa: Amazing New Hampshire Home Tour

Amazing New Hampshire Home Tour

A few weeks ago me and my family were able to take a couple weeks off from our daily routine and enjoy a much needed vacation. ?Our first trip was to New York city, were we met my sister and her family and we all went sightseeing and enjoying the city. We had a great time there, but after all the hustle and bustle of the big city we headed up north to New Hampshire to visit my sister-in-law's family.

It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. ?Her gorgeous vacation home, designed by architect Charles H. Pawley, sits on 140 acres of peaceful delight.

Nestled in the mountains and surrounded by conservation lands, it was the perfect setting for us to go hiking on the many trails the property has, swimming in the private lake frontage, boating, kayaking, and having a good time just being there!

But oh well, I want to give you a tour of this New London, NH "Colorado inspired" home that my SIL Pat has meticulously designed to meet her family's lifestyle. It's a long tour that I divided in three posts, the main home, the guest house and the outdoor areas. ?So, get yourself comfortable, grab a cup of coffee and be the guest.

Upon entering the house, the foyer is the welcoming point, a very warm and inviting round space.

The floor with imprinted multicolored leaves is hard to ignore. You'll be tempted, like I did the first time I stepped on it, to take your shoes off and feel its texture.

Art pieces are well displayed throughout the house.

Wood and stone tied up the whole property. ?This corridor takes you to the heart of the house, the kitchen.

A kitchen any chef would love.

From the kitchen as from nearly every room in the house, you have a panoramic view of Pleasant Lake, Mt. Kearsarge, Mt. Sunapee, and the Mink Hills beyond.

The dining room, a good place to entertain and have a good dinner.

However, alfresco lunches and dinners were the ones I cherished the most.

Back in the dining room, a pair of tailored pleated benches can be pulled to the table when more guests arrive.

From here you can have a peak at the majestic stone fireplace in the living room.

This is one of my favorite rooms. ?I don't know if it's the high ceilings, the fireplace...

The lighting, the baby grand piano,

The gigantic picture framed windows, or perhaps all of them, that make this room so sumptuous but at the same time so cozy. ?It was the perfect spot for my son to relax.

The art above the fireplace brought me back to my origins, my family... South America.

Colombian artist Pedro Ruiz's paint of a Kayapo boy, based on a picture taken by Jean Pierre-Dutilleoux during one of his visits to the Amazon, is simply stunning.

Green built-ins set the office apart from the rest of the house.

No detail is overlooked.

More corridors take you to other places in the house.

The laundry room.

Up the steps and always going through picturesque views,

The master bedroom takes center stage.

The master bedroom and the sitting room have their own fireplaces.

The use of wood and stone materials continues into the master bathroom.

Once again, the view is unparalleled.

The theater is the main focal area in the basement.

Luxurious details like the fringed ottoman or the cheetah print carpet sets the tone here for entertainment.

It is here where the the owners put a whimsical twist to the decor.

There are six bedrooms, five full baths, five fireplaces and 2 half baths in the house. ?I couldn't snoop in all of them. ?I hope you have enjoyed the tour and come back for the Guest House tour, which is the place where we stayed.

By the way, you can be the proud owner of this house, it's up for sell ;)
