Standard Place Third Birthday

Standard Place, the regular London party of "DJ's DJ" Oneman and his friends, turns three this weekend. There's not much change for their birthday celebration ? Oneman and regulars Reecha, Asbo and Jon Rust will all be getting behind the decks, alongside Darkstar. But they have enlisted one high profile friend to pop the champagne with them ? The xx beats maker and remix master Jamie xx.

Carnesky's Cabaret

Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, Fri Aug 23

If you're looking for some far-out entertainment, head to Bethnal Green Working Men's Club where cabaret queen Marisa Carnesky will be presenting the graduating class of her week-long 'Carnesky Finishing School'. Established and emerging artists and performers will be presenting new acts developed during the week. Afterwards there's a bank holiday Friday freak-out so you can practise your dance moves.

If you fancy a trip out of town this weekend, head to Cheshire for the UK?s biggest electronic music festival. 60,000 ravers will party to performances from some of dance music?s biggest artists, including The Prodigy, David Guetta, Ti?sto and Sub Focus, as well as debut sets from up-and-coming bands and DJs. This outdoor event will aim to squeeze every last drop out of your three-day weekend.

Clapham Common, Aug 24-25?

A reliable fixture on London?s clubbing calendar, this seriously large dance music festival celebrates its tenth anniversary this year with a line-up that includes DJs and musicians Example, Knife Party, Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Groove Armada and Eric Prydz. The tickets are officially sold out, but if you really want to go, there's bound to be a way...

House of Disco Day & Night Party

Who says you have to wait till dark to unleash your inner party animal? House of Disco?s once-a-year warehouse party will kick off with a barbecue and cocktails on the terrace until 9pm when the night party will commence inside. Disco legend Greg Wilson will be joined by an array of talent, including Space Dimension Controller, who will perform a disco-orientated set, and there will be live performances from Session Victim and Satin Jackets.

Livin' Proof

One of London's premier hip hop nights Livin' Proof has enlisted a big name from across the pond to get the temperature rising at its Carnival warm-up party ? producer Just Blaze. Famed for his soul samples, the New Jersey native has worked with heavyweights including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Drake and Kendrick Lamar. It's not often you get to see such a master beat-maker perform in the UK so make sure you don't miss this chance.

The Hydra

Some of last year's most exciting parties were part of The Hydra series, nights put on by promoters Broken & Uneven and Electric Minds, bringing some of the best underground house and techno to warehouse locations across London. For the first in their new series they're taking over Brixton's recently re-vamped Electric for 12 hours of Detroit techno from label and club night Blueprint. The highlight is due to be a rare live set from seminal Motor City outfit Underground Resistance who'll be presenting their Timeline project.

If you fancy a proper warehouse rave this bank holiday, head north to the lawless outskirts of Edmonton, where you can catch deep house legend Kerri Chandler. The Madhouse and Madtech Records boss will be playing a special extended four-hour set, no sweat for a man credited as one of the inventors of deep house and with over 20 years DJing experience under his belt. Also on the line-up are Madtech rising stars Voyeurs, while boutique party Bad Apple will be taking care of room two.

Secretsundaze x Go Bang!

Secretsundaze?s mini-festival will bring you an epic day and night experience. This two-part house and techno event has a broad and diverse lineup that features the headlining double-act of Detroit pioneer Juan Atkins and Germany?s eminent electronic producer Moritz von Oswald in their only 2013 London show. Fresh talent on the supporting the bill will include New York producer DJ Qu and Detroit DJ and producer Omar S. The festival will take over the terrace at Studio 338 for the day and move over to The Coronet Theatre by night.

The nautical-themed third instalment of this annual festival promises fish and chips, a surf simulator, and a slow-motion Baywatch running competition ? all in the conspicuously beach-less outskirts of zone 1.
