Herbal (Ayurveda) remedy for Allergy Treatment | Option One ...

An allergy refers to an exaggerated reaction by our body immune system in response to contact with certain foreign substances usually harmless. But, in a person whose body is prone to allergies, they are recognized by the body and the immune system is turned on. Allergy-producing substances are called as ?allergens?. Examples include pollens, dust mite, molds and certain foods.

Allergens cause the production of immunoglobulin E (IgE), an antibody that all of us have in small amounts. Allergic persons, however, produce IgE in abnormally quantities. Normally, this antibody is important in protecting us from parasites, but not from other allergens.

As per Ayurveda, foods are just aliens when we ingest them and are treated by the Agni (fire) of the body to change into compatible foods for the body. When the Agni doesn?t work properly, toxins get produced and accumulation of these toxins reduces the immunity of the body and gives rise to the immunity related diseases.

The word allergy is derived from the Greek words ?allos,? meaning different and ?ergos,? meaning work or action. Although allergies can develop at any age, the risk of developing it is genetic. It is related to a family history of allergy. Ayurvedic medicine has also found that eliminating allergens from the body will help alleviate symptoms associated with chronic fatigue syndrome. Ayurvedic medicine works on increasing the sensitivity & strength of immunity of the body.

Allergies affect most people in the world today. This has caused the need for scientists to research and find out some remedies for allergic reactions. Allergic reactions can be treated but not cured. This is so as the drugs simply suppress the symptoms and make the situation better. There are natural remedies while others are manufactured and prescribed by a doctor or bought over the counter.

Omega 3 fatty acids really help in curbing allergic reactions. Studies have shown that these substances found in walnuts, eggs and fish like salmon help in fighting inflammation and therefore people who take it more regularly are less likely to suffer from allergic reactions. This is a natural remedy.

Combination allergy medications are good treatment for allergic reactions. They are mainly a combination of antihistamines and decongestants. The two medications now work as one. Other combinations are between asthma medicine and an allergy medicine. These medicines should be taken under the guidance of a doctor.
