The New York Knicks' search for a backup power forward has taken an interesting twist. The 15-year veteran last served as a backup for the Celtics?a team that actually started him in a losing effort for Game 7 of the NBA Finals that year. Wallace has been linked to a number of NBA franchises since retiring in the summer of 2010, notably the Miami Heat prior to the 2012 playoffs and the Celtics back in 2011. However, none of these have come to fruition because of the mercurial forward?s health and lack of desire to play. While Rasheed has the size, standing 6?11?, 230 pounds, and proven skills?with career averages of 14.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals?to be a solid rotation player for a contending team like the Knicks, his attitude and age should be a major deterrent in actually inking him to a guaranteed deal.
