Popular mobile game developer Mika Mobile ... - Know Your Cell

Mika Mobile, developer of the hit Android games Zombieville USA and Battleheart, announced today via a blog posting that the company will no longer be developing games for Google's Android OS. Both Battleheart and Zombieville USA developed cult-like followings and were very popular within the Android community.

According to Mika Mobile's posting, developing games on Android is just not financially viable anymore. Evidently, only 5% of Mika Mobile?s revenue comes from Android, yet the company utilized 20% of yearly resources to deal with Android compatibility issues and bug fixes. Financially speaking, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Mika Mobile also took issue with how the new Google Play Store operates, claiming it would have to completely re-engineers games in order to take advantage of the new file size limit. The company is just not making enough from Android to justify an investment like that.

So what exactly does this news mean for those of you who own Battleheart or Zombieville USA? We are not too sure yet, aside from the fact, you probably won't be receiving any more updates or any support. The games will still likely be available for download, but that is probably it.

You can read the entire official announcement over on the company's blog for all the details.
